Last year Christmas was a little more neutral and this year I was feeling more nostalgic and wanted Christmas to feel a bit more traditional with more personal touches. I didn't care if things were perfectly decorated with matching Christmas tree decor, I would rather have old, random ornaments passed down from my childhood that tells a story and sets a tone for how special Christmases were as a young child. 

I feel like it's important to really, relay that feeling of Christmas the way we experienced it. Things have changed so much and seem to have such a complexity to gift giving that didn't seem to exist when I was a child. I hope I can keep that spirit alive with my child and pray that she looks back and feels the magic that was present.
